The effectiveness of cooperation with UNIDO, according to Economy and Commerce Minister Bakyt Sydykov, should be assessed across several key areas. At a regional forum on industrial development in Bishkek, he stressed the importance of taking into account the adoption of modern production solutions and growth in the quality of manufactured products.
Assessment criteria and support for SMEs
The minister noted that when assessing cooperation, it is necessary to take into account both the number of enterprises that have adopted modern production solutions and the number of specialists who have mastered in-demand competencies. In addition, it is important to track improvements in product quality and gains in resource efficiency.
Bakyt Sydykov emphasized that small and medium-sized enterprises often face a shortage of resources to carry out certification and testing on their own. In this context, UNIDO's assistance can help remove trade barriers and increase confidence in domestic products.
Prospects for technical cooperation
The minister added that for the five countries of Central Asia, a joint personnel training program, the exchange of technological solutions and interaction among testing laboratories are especially promising. To implement these tasks, international expertise is needed, which UNIDO possesses.
At the next stage, technical cooperation should focus on the practical implementation of the results obtained.
