A man has been detained in Kyzyl-Kiya on suspicion of murdering his wife. According to preliminary investigation data, the tragedy was caused by a quarrel between the spouses over jealousy, as a result of which the husband allegedly beat and strangled the woman.
Circumstances of the incident and detention of the suspect
A report of a lifeless body was received by the duty unit of the city police department by phone at about 11:20 on October 31, 2026. The woman, identified as D.S., a resident of the village of Karavan born in 2002, was taken to hospital.
Case status and the detainee
A criminal case has been opened over the incident under Article 122 "Murder" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The woman's husband, M.K., born in 1995, was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility on the basis of Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect was questioned in the presence of a lawyer.
The couple married in 2020. Police earlier denied information that the husband may have killed his wife with an axe, clarifying that such information did not correspond to reality.
Context
Investigative measures are currently under way to establish all the circumstances of what happened. It has been established that the couple was raising three children — a son and two daughters.
