Trade in agricultural products between Kyrgyzstan and Russia grew by almost a quarter

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Erlist Akunbekov discussed deepening cooperation in agriculture and the environment. During the meeting, it was noted that trade in agricultural products between the two countries increased by almost a quarter.

During the working meeting, the parties reviewed issues of interaction in the agro-industrial complex, as well as veterinary and phytosanitary control and environmental protection. According to Dmitry Patrushev, Russia remains one of Kyrgyzstan's leading trade partners and a major investor in the republic's economy.

Growth in trade and areas of cooperation

It is noted that since the beginning of this year, trade in agricultural products and food between Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Federation has grown by almost a quarter. In addition, supplies of Russian mineral fertilizers to the Kyrgyz Republic are growing.

The participants discussed the potential for increasing exports of Russian products to Kyrgyzstan. Particular attention was given to oil and fat products, confectionery, wheat, sugar and poultry meat. Areas of cooperation in science, education, breeding and digitalization are also being developed.
