Kubanychbek Bokontayev

Biography

Kubanychbek Bokontayev currently serves as the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Russia. He began his career as an economist in the currency department of the National Bank in 1992. Starting in 1998, he worked in commercial banks of Kyrgyzstan, reaching the position of acting Chairman of the Board of Directors. In 2003, he became the general director and chief editor of the newspaper "Ekonomika. Banki. Biznes". In recent years, he held positions such as Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Deposit Protection Agency. He graduated from the Kyrgyz National University with a degree in Economics in 1992.
