Kyrgyzstan is celebrating Information and Press Day. On this occasion, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev addressed members of the media community with a congratulatory speech, according to the Cabinet's press service.
The Role of Journalism and Professional Ethics
In his address, the head of the executive branch emphasized that the work of journalists directly affects how current events will be perceived by future generations. According to him, in conditions of rapid technological progress, the key tasks of the media are verifying the accuracy of data and adhering to ethical standards.
"Public trust is one of the main values of the mass media. Preserving and strengthening this trust is the professional duty of every representative of the media community."
Kasymaliev pointed to the need for timely and objective coverage of socially significant topics, as well as the importance of providing citizens with verified information while considering the interests of society. In conclusion, he wished media workers health, prosperity, and creative inspiration.
