This was reported on October 30 by Chingiz Arinov, akim of the Almaty region, during the Second Forum on Interregional Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
Prospects for developing ties between the regions
According to Chingiz Arinov, the signed memorandum will make it possible to establish direct ties between the regions. It is noted that the Almaty region borders the Chui and Issyk-Kul regions, which opens up opportunities for developing cross-border trade as well as economic and cultural contacts.
Earlier, last year, the Almaty and Issyk-Kul regions had already signed a roadmap concerning the development of cross-border trade for the specified period.
