Donald Trump has designated the White House Oval Office a "national monument." The order, signed by Trump on November 5, could limit the ability of future US presidents to change the interior of the room.
What the National Monument Status Means
According to the information, the relevant order must be ratified by Congress. If adopted, new US presidents will be unable to make changes to the interior of the Oval Office.
Previous Changes to the Office
Recently, Donald Trump himself, upon returning to the White House, made changes to the presidential residence, including the Oval Office, where, according to reports, substantial gold decor was added.
According to data published on 24.kg, the document was signed by Trump two days after the Republicans' defeat in the midterm congressional elections.
