Buyers of apartments in new residential buildings in Kyrgyzstan are now advised to use a QR code to confirm the legality of construction. Construction Minister Nurdan Oruntaev announced this at a press conference.

Documentation checks and tighter oversight at construction sites

According to the minister, scanning the QR code provides access to the Ministry of Construction's website. There, users can review key information about the project, including land plot documents, expert review conclusions and design permits.

According to the minister, this mechanism should significantly simplify the process of obtaining information about the legality of construction for citizens, saving them from having to sort through a large volume of documentation on their own.

Changes to the construction oversight system

In addition, the ministry is carrying out a reform of the construction control system. Under this reform, inspectors have been required to use body cameras to record all inspections and staff actions directly at construction sites.

  • Requirements for safety equipment and technical oversight have been tightened.
  • Constant monitoring of worker safety and construction progress is being ensured, since construction sites are classified as high-risk facilities.

Minister Oruntaev stressed the importance of constant oversight, especially given that construction sites are classified as high-risk facilities.
