Improvements under way in Bishkek's Karagachevaya Grove along the Big Chui Canal and lakes

Landscaping of the promenade area and water bodies is actively under way in Karagachevaya Grove. The work is being carried out along the Big Chui Canal (BCC) and at the Pionerskoye and Komsomolskoye lakes, the capital's mayor's office reports.

Monitoring of landscaping and infrastructure

The head of the Sverdlovsky district, Bakyt Karaev, inspected several sections. He checked the area along the BCC between Orozbekov Street and Abdrakhmanov Street (formerly Elebesova), where a promenade area is being landscaped.

• At the Pionerskoye and Komsomolskoye lakes, a geomembrane — a waterproof covering — is being laid.
• American maples and elms have been planted along the canal.
• During the visit, Karaev also visited the pond at the intersection of Aul and Abdrakhmanov streets to check the adjacent territory for illegal buildings.
