Challenges of the digital age and the role of international cooperation

Kyrgyz Interior Minister Ulan Niyazbekov addressed conference participants, noting that cybercrime is constantly changing and taking on increasingly complex organizational forms.

The minister expressed particular concern, focusing attention on new challenges linked to the development of artificial intelligence. In particular, he pointed to the spread of fraudulent schemes using fake voices or messages, as well as fictitious investment offers.

The minister emphasized that the cross-border nature of the crimes significantly complicates their investigation, since offenders can operate from other states, using foreign digital platforms and financial instruments from different jurisdictions.

According to Ulan Niyazbekov, an effective fight against such threats requires a comprehensive approach. It should include not only improving digital literacy among the population and preventing offenses, but also prompt interaction between law enforcement agencies, banking institutions and telecom operators.
