The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has issued an official warning about potential fraudulent activities occurring on social networks. These schemes are reportedly collecting funds under the guise of helping a baby suffering from a serious ailment.
Warning on Online Fundraising Scams
According to the department's press center, photo and video materials featuring a child with craniofacial pathology are being widely circulated across popular messengers and social media platforms. The original poster is appealing to the public for urgent financial assistance and has provided specific bank details.
However, the Ministry emphasized that the information regarding the child, the specific diagnosis, and the legality or coordination of this fundraising effort with relevant state services has not been officially confirmed.
Because of this lack of confirmation, the Ministry has strongly advised citizens to withhold any monetary transfers to the listed accounts.
Advice from Health Specialists
Health specialists reminded the public that exploiting the topic of sick children is one of the most common types of online deception. Citizens are urged to thoroughly check the credibility of public appeals and to direct their support to verified charitable foundations, preventing fraudsters from profiting from compassion.
The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic advises the public to rely only on verified sources when encountering such appeals.
