Myktybek Kalandarov, Director of the Department of Breeding Livestock, Pastures and Feed of the Ministry of Agriculture, reported the adoption of a new law and amendments to Resolution No. 516. Accordingly, the ministry will soon monitor farms — both those that already hold breeding status and those applying for it.
Conditions for obtaining and monitoring breeding status
For a farm to qualify for breeding status, it must submit an application to the district veterinary or administrative department. After the application is submitted, a special commission will visit the site for an inspection.
- Breeding farms receive state fund land directly from the state, bypassing auction and tender.
In addition, such farms are obliged to sell livestock while providing a full package of documents confirming the animals' origin. According to Myktybek Kalandarov, the ministry is also working on amending regulations concerning breeding livestock.
Changes for farmers and the market
It is noted that farmers who take out 3% loans must purchase livestock exclusively from farms holding the appropriate breeding status.
According to the Director of the Department of Breeding Livestock, Pastures and Feed of the Ministry of Agriculture, the work on legislation also provides for tightening requirements for farms.
