Following the detection of the natural spawning cycle of trout in the tributaries of Issyk-Kul, supervisory agency staff have stepped up work to protect aquatic biological resources. These measures are aimed at preventing poaching and preserving the fish population.
Tighter control during the trout spawning period
Observations of the movement of trout, which swims upstream into tributaries to reproduce, have been recorded near the village of Baktu-Dolonotu in the Issyk-Kul district. Experts note that the autumn-winter period is critically important for the natural reproduction cycle of Issyk-Kul trout.
As a result of these observations, staff of the Issyk-Kul regional department of the Service for Environmental and Technical Supervision under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision have stepped up patrols. This is being done so that illegal fishing does not cause serious damage to the natural reproduction process.
