The Ulan plant in Karakol is preparing to implement two major projects that are expected to spur local industrial development. The first project involves the assembly and repair of boats and yachts, and the second involves the creation of a fish-farming complex.

Planned areas and their potential

A hangar has already been built for the boat and yacht assembly facility, and components for the first vessel have been delivered to the site. According to sources, this facility is scheduled to launch next year.

About the fish-farming complex

The second key project is a fish-farming complex that will be located on a site that had long stood idle. The complex's design capacity is up to 1,500 tonnes of fish per year.

As part of this project, special attention is being paid to preserving the natural wealth of Issyk-Kul. In addition to farming trout, the facility plans to take part in restoring populations of Issyk-Kul dace and whitefish. Water used in the tanks will be treated through high-tech facilities, and the residue is to be used as fertilizer.

Significance for the region

The implementation of these plans is seen as an opportunity to give a new impetus to Karakol's industrial development and to ensure the efficient use of production sites with a rich history.

During a review of the projects, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, visited Ulan OJSC, where Karakol Mayor Talantbek Imanov presented him with information about them.
