President Sadyr Japarov stated that Kyrgyzstan plans to independently develop the Taldy-Bulak, Andash, and Bala-Chychkan mineral deposits. This announcement was made during a meeting with residents of the Talas region, confirming that the state will manage these resources without resorting to selling licenses to private investors.
State Control Over Key Mining Projects
According to the President, the state is already independently developing the Togolok, Kyzyl-Ompol, and Unkur-Tash deposits. Furthermore, the government has introduced legislative amendments that establish a 30% state share in all future mineral development projects.
Japarov provided figures illustrating the increased revenue for the state. He noted that while previously revenues from the 'Kumtor' deposit amounted to 5 billion soums, the single Jeruy deposit now generates four times that amount. He added that, based on data for the first nine months of 2026, the state treasury received 20 billion soums from taxes and other payments generated by enterprises.
Operational Details and Oversight
For the development of the Taldy-Bulak, Andash, and Bala-Chychkan deposits, a specialized team has been formed within JSC 'Kyrgyzaltyn'. The President also emphasized that environmental concerns will be a primary focus during the development of these deposits.
- The state is developing the Togolok, Kyzyl-Ompol, and Unkur-Tash deposits using its own resources, including funding, equipment, and skilled personnel.
- The Jeruy deposit, developed by 'Alliance Altyn', employs approximately a thousand people, most of whom are local residents.
