Kyrgyz Interior Ministry officers shut down an international drug trafficking channel in Osh region, detaining a group of citizens and seizing Afghan-origin hashish with a total weight of 63 kilograms 695 grams. According to preliminary information, the drugs were transported through Tajikistan for further shipment to Kazakhstan and Russia.

According to the Drug Control Service, the detained criminal group planned to bring the drugs through Tajikistan into Kyrgyzstan. By preliminary estimates, the seized volume could have amounted to about 315,000 doses, with an estimated value of 95 million som.

Consequences and next steps

As a result of the incident, citizens E. F. Kh., R. T. A. and N. N. O. were detained. A criminal case has been opened over the drug seizure, and investigative and operational measures are ongoing.
