Information and Press Day is being celebrated in Kyrgyzstan. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, congratulated media workers on this professional holiday.
The Role of Journalism in Preserving History
In his address, the Head of the Presidential Administration emphasized that journalism determines how current events will be reflected in the public consciousness and preserved in the memory of future generations as part of the national heritage.
According to Adylbek Kasymaliev, the primary task of the media is to inform citizens in a timely manner about socially significant events, as well as to provide the population with accurate and impartial data.
"Your main task is to convey events of public importance to the people in a timely manner, reflecting them accurately and impartially, while providing citizens with reliable information."
It was also noted that over the last ten years, the information sphere has undergone significant changes, yet the value of the word, based on truth, remains unchanged.
Impact on Democratic Values
Kasymaliev pointed out that journalists play a leading role in the development of Kyrgyzstan's information space and the strengthening of democratic values, acting as the voice of the people and contributing to the development of society through the principles of justice and transparency.
