Traditional agricultural fairs are resuming in Bishkek. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the goal of these fairs is not only to provide the population with food products but also to create conditions for farmers to sell their products directly to consumers, bypassing intermediaries.

Schedule and locations of the fairs

The fairs will be held in two districts of the city. In Pervomaisky district, trading starts on November 7–8 at Turdakun Usubaliev Square. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, this fair will operate every Saturday and Sunday until June 2027. In Leninsky district, trading points will open from November 6 at the intersection of Minzhylkiev and Tynaliev streets in the Jal microdistrict, operating every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

What to expect from the fairs

At the fairs, city residents will be able to buy meat and dairy products, as well as vegetables and fruit — other everyday goods. Organizing this format of trade will allow domestic producers to sell their products directly, which is expected to reduce intermediary costs and increase the availability of quality food.
