Jogorku Kenesh deputy Dastan Bekeshev said the Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution amending Bishkek's general plan through 2050, but the updated drawing was not published either on official resources or in newspapers. This worries residents of the capital due to the lack of transparency in the process.

Lack of public access to the updated plan

Although the resolution was published on October 30 in the Erkin-Too newspaper, deputy Bekeshev noted that the annex with the amended drawing was missing from the publication. He also could not find the updated document on the official websites of Bishkek city hall or on the website of the Ministry of Construction.

Questions about the decision-making process

The MP expressed concern that amendments to such an important document are being made without public discussion. According to him, the general plan determines what will appear in a resident's neighborhood in the future: whether it could be a park, a school, a road or a high-rise building.

In this regard, Dastan Bekeshev intends to send a parliamentary request to the Ministry of Construction. He plans to demand clarification on exactly which areas are affected by the amendments, as well as to request both the previous and updated versions of the drawing, and information on the timing of the document's publication.
