Kyrgyz Arashan sheep are noted for their large size, ranking among the top four largest sheep breeds globally, with their fleece height and live weight placing them as number one. While some reports mention high-value transactions, experts advise caution regarding expectations of quick profits from this breeding business.

Market Value and Breed Characteristics

Arashan sheep can reach a weight of 230–240 kg, significantly heavier than the Ghissar breed (the sire line), which weighs around 180 kg. Due to these characteristics, the breed has become very popular among livestock breeders in the region.

Pricing Dynamics

While some transactions have reportedly seen Arashan sheep sold for high amounts, such as $140,000 and $260,000, these instances are described as extremely rare. These high prices are associated with rams considered 'peak breeding achievements,' which are valuable for improving the entire flock's characteristics.

The average price for Arashan sheep is around 100-300 thousand soms, depending on characteristics. Weaker specimens might cost around 40-50 thousand soms.
