The run took place on November 1 on a closed section of highway in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. German driver Marc Basseng was behind the wheel of the premium hypercar from the Yangwang brand (the premium division of the Chinese company BYD).

Double record and technical details

Following the tests, the Guinness World Records recorded two achievements simultaneously: for a production car and for a production electric vehicle in a one-way run. To achieve the maximum figure, engineers had to work for two days. After the initial attempts, specialists adjusted tire pressure as well as suspension and aerodynamics settings.

503.17km/h achieved speed
496.22km/h previous result
2days the tests lasted

The new result surpassed the previous figure for the same model, which was recorded in Germany in September 2025.
