In Kyrgyzstan, the procedure for licensing educational organizations engaged in training medical personnel has been changed. Under the new provision, the authority to issue the relevant licenses will now be vested in the authorized state body in the field of healthcare — the Ministry of Health.
General provisions and scope of the changes
The licensing procedure that has been changed concerns programs of secondary, higher and postgraduate professional education in the field of healthcare, as well as additional professional education of medical workers.
- Licensing of medical personnel training will be vested in the authorized body in the field of healthcare, rather than carried out under the general procedure for educational organizations
- Requirements for the material and technical base of organizations are being clarified; during licensing, compliance of the premises and other facilities used with state educational standards and educational programs will be taken into account
The resolution that approved these changes was signed by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev on November 2, 2026. The changes were made to the provision on licensing certain types of activities approved by Cabinet resolution No. 678 of December 14, 2023.
Key points for educational institutions
As part of the implementation of the resolution, the Health Ministry has been instructed to take the necessary measures. The changes take effect in 15 days.
As a result of the changes, licensing of medical personnel training will be vested in the authorized body in the field of healthcare.
