According to Nursultan Kurmanaly uulu, in the event of an injury an athlete dropped from the national team risks being left without support. The new resolution is intended to provide at least four years of social protection, including the accrual of scholarships and insurance payments.

Changes to legislation on employment records

In addition, amendments concerning employment records are being introduced into the legislation. The deputy director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports noted that previously athletes who had been on national teams found it difficult to find employment after the end of their careers, as they often finished their sports careers at the age of 28-30 and did not have the required employment record.

Work on introducing an employment record for athletes began in 2025.
