According to Nursultan Kurmanaly uulu, installing fitness equipment on the streets is the most effective method of encouraging people to take up physical culture and sports. He noted that even if modern sports halls are built, some groups of the population, such as housewives or the elderly, may have an internal barrier that prevents them from visiting such halls.
Mechanism for drawing people into sports
The deputy director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports believes that if a person regularly sees a sports ground on the street — for example, on the way to the market or a store — it will spark their interest. Repeated use can build inner confidence, after which the person can move on to training in a professional sports hall.
Measures to develop sports infrastructure
In the context of reducing the shortage of sports facilities locally, local self-government bodies are recommended to take measures. These measures include building low-budget flat sports structures, which may be called sports cores. Such structures include open football fields, combined basketball and volleyball courts, and gymnastics areas.
These plans are being implemented under the approved Program for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports through 2030.
