Since the start of 2026, 1 million 116 thousand citizens who had been working abroad have returned to Uzbekistan. The authorities intend to support these specialists in order to provide jobs for 250,000 people and to support those who plan to start their own business.

Support and demand for migrants' experience

Among the returning citizens are specialists who gained work experience in countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Japan and Russia. They worked in various sectors: industry, construction, logistics, services and agriculture.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed that particular attention be given to offering decent work to these specialists, drawing on their accumulated professional knowledge and experience. Particular emphasis is placed on citizens who worked at large foreign enterprises and mastered modern labor standards and technologies.

Integration mechanisms and recognition of seniority

To help with job searches, a special platform has been created that records the place of work, profession and work experience of returning citizens. Khokims and heads of sectoral agencies are connected to this platform to select suitable vacancies.
