The problem with educational materials worsened at the start of the new school year, when parents in various regions found that their children had been given only some of the required books, and some of them were badly worn or outdated. The situation was compounded by the fact that textbooks intended for free distribution were found on sale at markets.
Criticism of fund distribution and measures taken
President Sadyr Japarov voiced his discontent during a meeting with residents of Jalal-Abad region. The head of state criticized the work of the Ministry of Education, noting that due to the lack of high-quality digitalization, the ministry had no clear picture of how textbooks were distributed across regions.
In response to the situation, Sadyr Japarov signed a decree on measures to provide schools in Kyrgyzstan with textbooks and teaching materials. According to this document, 8.5 billion som were allocated from the state budget for the publication of textbooks and teaching materials.
How to ensure the funds reach students
In this regard, the question arose as to what steps must be taken so that the funds allocated by the president, in the form of new textbooks, do not remain in warehouses but reach students directly.
