Biography

Sooronbay Zheenbekov is the former President of the Kyrgyz Republic. He is a member of the SDPK. His career included serving as the governor and head of the state administration of the Osh region from 2010 to 2012. Subsequently, he worked as the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Osh region (2012–2015) and the Director of the State Personnel Service of the Kyrgyz Republic (2015–2016). In 2016, he held positions as the first deputy head of the President's Apparatus and Prime Minister of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. In 2017, he became the President of Kyrgyzstan, and since 2018, he has also been the Chairman of the Committee for Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of the Kyrgyz Republic under the National Council for Sustainable Development. He studied at the Skryabin Agricultural Institute (1977–1983) and the K.I. Skryabin Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute (1983).
