Construction work is currently underway on the site where garages near the Orto-Sai market were previously located. The area was earlier at the center of a scandal over the demolition of the garages, which took place back in 2022.

According to the Oktyabrsky district administration, a multifunctional complex is planned for this territory. In particular, this refers to a 10-story parking garage that will include two underground levels. In addition, sports and recreation zones, including a football pitch and a sports ground, are planned for the tenth floor.

According to the mayor's office, the developer is the company Ansar Kurulush. However, the company itself reportedly clarified that it is not the developer and acted in a different capacity.
Background of the demolition
It is worth noting that before the garages were demolished, notices were distributed to their owners. At the time, banners from the mayor's office appeared on the fence showing plans for future facilities: a sports complex, a public garden and multi-level parking garages. The mayor's office then promised owners that they would be given spaces in the new parking garage first of all, compensating them for the loss of a parking space at the same amount as the membership fees in the garage cooperative.
