Following construction minister Nurdan Oruntayev's visit to problem residential sites in Bishkek and its surroundings, the ministry plans to work through the issue of introducing external management at construction companies and to turn to law enforcement.
Possible ways to resolve the unfinished construction problems
During meetings with buyers, various options for completing construction were discussed, including attracting investors and state support.
Key sites and companies
- The complex in the Kok-Zhar residential area on Moldokulova Street: construction, which began in 2013, was carried out by Kyrgyz-Arabian Alkhneizi LLC and OPPS Stroy LLC.
- The site at 121b Michurina Street: a nine-story building of two blocks with 169 apartments, whose construction began in 2021 by Ekspert Stroy LLC and Gidrotekhstroy LLC.
- The building at 295 and 297 Jibek Jolu Avenue: construction of the 80-apartment building began in 2018.
Number of apartments at the problem sites
In the case of the site at 121b Michurina Street, the minister proposed considering the possibility of completing the building with state support. In general, if the citizens reach a unified decision and give their consent, external management will be introduced at the construction companies.
Regarding the building at 295 and 297 Jibek Jolu Avenue, the buyers proposed an alternative option for completing construction. According to sources, about 100 shared-construction participants are involved in this site.
