Distribution of Knesset mandates
Following the vote held on October 27, no political force was able to secure an absolute majority. Although the religious-nationalist bloc of incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remained the largest grouping, it did not garner enough votes for sole governance. Meanwhile, during consultations with the president, Eisenkot's candidacy received support from representatives of parties holding a combined 67 mandates. Netanyahu's support amounted to 46 deputies.

Timeline and possible scenarios
The president's decision was announced on November 7, with the official mandate presentation to Eisenkot scheduled for November 8. He has 28 days to form a coalition, with the possibility of a 14-day extension. If an agreement cannot be reached, the right to form a government may pass to another candidate.
To form a government, Eisenkot may require complex agreements: either forming a minority cabinet with the support of Arab parties, reaching agreements with ultra-Orthodox forces, or forming a national unity government involving Netanyahu.
