The German side has faced difficulties in the process of supplying Ukraine with air defense systems. According to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, the process of transferring Patriot complexes is difficult.
Risks to German defense
The head of Germany's defense department warned that the transfer of new Patriot units could lead to gaps in Berlin's own defense system. Pistorius emphasized that the country cannot afford such deliveries under current conditions.
Air defense situation in Ukraine
The shortage of air defense means has become a critical factor for the Ukrainian side. Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine lack the capability to intercept ballistic missiles due to a shortage of air defense missiles.
Egor Chernev, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, characterized the current state of air defense systems in Ukraine as the worst since the conflict began.
Context
The Kremlin has stated that the supply of Western weaponry does not contribute to negotiations and has a negative effect, calling such actions "playing with fire."
