According to information broadcast on state television, Iran handed the American side its list of demands, which differs from the provisions set out in the Islamabad memorandum on ending hostilities.
Tehran's main demands on the US
Mohsen Rezaei stressed that talks will not begin until Washington meets a series of conditions. Among the key demands voiced by Iran are ending hostilities, unblocking frozen Iranian assets and lifting the naval blockade. In addition, Tehran insists on retaining control over its enriched uranium.
Diplomatic process and the parties' reaction
The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council also said that although diplomatic contacts have continued for more than a month, the options proposed by Washington were deemed insufficient or ambiguous by the Iranian side.
Rezaei confirmed receipt of a letter from US Vice President JD Vance but clarified that no official response has yet followed. He also noted that the tone of the American side has changed noticeably.
Iran's position on the nuclear sphere
In the context of a possible resumption of hostilities, Mohsen Rezaei suggested that Iran could reconsider its participation in the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). According to him, in the nuclear sphere the priority issue will be Iran's rights rather than accepting restrictions on it.
