According to information received at a meeting with residents of Talas region, three men were detained after a quarrel with a local prosecutor. According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when relatives were driving to a funeral and on the way they had a conflict with the driver of another car, who introduced himself as a prosecutor.
The president's reaction and the conditions for releasing the detainees
During the meeting, President Sadyr Japarov ordered an investigation into the case and instructed that the possibility of releasing the detainees be considered. The president noted that the prosecutor, as a public servant, should have shown restraint and sought a peaceful settlement of the conflict rather than letting the dispute escalate into a fight.
Circumstances of the detention
Law enforcement officials said that the prosecutor and his wife were in the other car and that the detained men beat the supervisory agency officer. According to First Deputy Interior Minister Adylbek Biybosunov, it was the beating of the officer that led to the detention of the three brothers.
Course of action
In connection with the incident, the president instructed the deputy prosecutor general to take the situation under personal control, hear both sides and resolve the case peacefully. The men may be released provided that the prosecutor and his wife have no serious injuries.
