Residents of Tokmok, Kant, Kemin, Kara-Balta and Sokuluk cannot yet count on a quick improvement in transport links with Bishkek. According to information received in response to a request from Jogorku Kenesh deputy Dastan Bekeshev, the Ministry of Transport and Communications does not have the funds to buy buses needed for suburban and intercity routes.
Current transport situation and the ministry's plans
At present, most transport on these routes is operated by private companies. At the same time, the ministry's own budget does not include funds for purchasing buses to provide regular service.

Next steps and digitalization
The ministry said it is taking steps to attract private investors and is in talks with international partners on the possible purchase of buses and environmentally friendly transport. However, no specific timelines for improving service have been given. The Ministry of Transport is currently focusing on digital solutions, under which some suburban and intercity routes have been added to the "My City" app, and the introduction of GPS monitoring and electronic waybills is also planned.
