An incident occurred in Bishkek at the Perinatal Center of the NCMPC (the sixth maternity hospital), where a conflict with a pregnant patient took place, video of which spread on social media. According to sources, the patient initially came to the maternity hospital complaining of nagging pain in the lower abdomen and suspected leakage of amniotic fluid.
Circumstances of the incident and the medics' actions
According to the data, the patient was admitted to the NCMPC on October 31. However, despite complaints of possible rupture of membranes, the medics considered her behavior conflictual and aggressive. As a result, on November 2 the patient was discharged from the maternity hospital because there were no medical indications for further hospitalization in the obstetric profile.
Reaction of law enforcement
Regarding the incident at one of the capital's maternity hospitals, a call came in to the 102 service at about 03:00 on November 2 saying that medical workers were refusing to admit a pregnant woman. An investigative-operational group arrived at the scene, after which the woman filed a written statement. In this connection, police in the Pervomaisky district have launched a check into the matter.
Consequences for the patient
According to the medical facility, during the patient's stay at the NCMPC, conflict situations arose, including threats toward those around her. In this connection, the maternity hospital administration called police and specialists from the Republican Center for Mental Health to assess her condition. Ultimately, on November 2 the patient was referred for consultation to a specialized facility.
