President Sadyr Japarov clarified the situation regarding the gold mine's operational timeline. According to him, information about the potential cessation of the enterprise's activities in 2032 was misinterpreted.
Reason for the misunderstanding
The Head of State explained that previous mentions of the completion of work referred exclusively to the central pit, where significant excavation has already occurred. It is planned that the equipment used in this area will be transferred to the Zhetim-Too deposit.
"Incorrect information was spread. Previously, it was mentioned regarding the central pit. A large hole has already formed there. We will take the equipment from there and move it to Zhetim-Too. As for Kumtor, it will continue to operate."
Context
Sadyr Japarov holds the position of President of Kyrgyzstan. The meeting with the residents of Tokmok took place on November 7.
