Kyrgyzstan has acquired the technological base for its own banknote production, allowing the country to issue its national currency independently. Previously, Kyrgyz som banknotes were produced in other countries.

Until recently, issuing banknotes required significant financial resources and overcoming numerous difficulties, since the country lacked the necessary high-tech production facility for printing money. The Kyrgyz Republic now has such capacity.
