During a meeting with residents of Alamudun district, President Sadyr Japarov reviewed the appeal of Rayana Azamatova concerning the non-enforcement of a court ruling on the return of her two daughters.
The situation with the children's return and the actions of state agencies
According to Rayana Azamatova, she has been trying to achieve justice since 2019. She said that in that year her former husband took her two daughters. Since then she has been pursuing court proceedings in an attempt to get the children back.
- The Supreme Court ruled that the daughters, aged 12 and 10, should stay with their mother, but that ruling has not yet been fully enforced.
- A criminal case has been opened against the former husband over the failure to comply with the court ruling, but the problem has not been resolved for several months.
- On the basis of the court ruling she managed to get her elder daughter back, but she still cannot take back the younger one.
- Despite the Supreme Court ruling, the case is again being heard in the Leninsky district court.
In response to the appeal, a representative of the Prosecutor General's Office said that a criminal case had indeed been opened against the woman's former husband for failure to comply with the court ruling. An investigation is currently under way, and an appropriate decision will be taken based on its results.
