At 282A Frunze Street, Bishkek residents complained about construction work that sent stones with cement mixtures flying from the construction site. According to eyewitnesses, one of the stones hit a child in the back, and another damaged the windshield of a car parked by the building.

Circumstances of the incident and the current construction site

A video recorded by a local resident captured the moment the stones fell. A 24-storey mixed-use residential complex is being built on the site. The work is being carried out by Dunyan Central Asian Real Estate Company LLC.

Previous conflicts with residents

Earlier, the start of construction on this site had already caused tension among local residents. In September, people living in neighbouring buildings said two cracks had appeared in their yards after excavation of the foundation pit began. Residents demanded a safety inspection of the pit and of the condition of the fencing and supports, and also wanted to know whether surveys of neighbouring buildings had been conducted before the work began.

At the time of the complaints, the developer insisted the work was lawful, explaining the plans to move the fence by the need to ensure residents' safety. After citizens' appeals, the Bishkek mayor inspected the construction site and ordered the identified violations to be remedied, but work at the site continued.
