According to the Service for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking, three suspects were detained in Bishkek after being caught distributing adverts for online drug sales. The QR-code stickers were found in public places, including monuments and buildings in parks.
Circumstances of the detention and the criminal case
According to investigators, the detainees began operating in October of this year. They were paid in cryptocurrency for each sticker posted and were registered in one of the Telegram channels. On October 30, a criminal case was opened over their actions under the article "Advertising of narcotic drugs, as well as public calls for their consumption."
The suspects were placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Main Internal Affairs Directorate. Investigative bodies are continuing work to identify other possible participants in this scheme.
