Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev has asked judicial authorities to issue rulings and not to carry out the demolition of houses in which people live until proceedings on land disputes are finally completed. Particular attention was given to the need to suspend such actions in winter.

Position of the mayor's office and instructions from the leadership

According to the mayor, some families live in houses they built and have inhabited for about 20 years, despite the fact that the land plots have repeatedly changed owners on paper.

During a meeting with residents of Sokuluk district, President Sadyr Japarov instructed that all disputed issues concerning land plots and houses be reviewed and that the process of settling these issues be accelerated.

Key points
