The Cabinet of Ministers has issued changes to the state list of historical and cultural monuments of Kyrgyzstan of republican significance. According to Resolution No. 739, signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet, Adylbek Kasymalyev, the building designated as object No. 54 has been excluded from the list of architectural monuments.

Details of the Excluded Monument and New Development

The excluded object is the Bishkek City Cathedral Mosque, formerly the central mosque, located at 25 Moskovskaya Street. It is important to note that this structure has already been dismantled.

Future Plans for the Site

Authorities in the capital reported that the original building was in an emergency state and could not be reconstructed. Instead, plans are underway to build a modern, two-story mosque capable of accommodating 4,200 people on the site.

The proposed new complex will include more than just prayer halls. Facilities are planned such as an underground parking lot, administrative offices, ablution areas, storage, a cafe, and boutiques. The Ministry of City Administration also mentioned that the project will be implemented with the support of partners.
