Kirova Street in Orlovka holds a special place in the town's history. According to the recollections of long-time residents, the appearance of this street has changed fundamentally: from a place with a deep ravine to a modern paved avenue.
Changes in the appearance of Kirova Street
According to the city hall's press service, in Soviet times Kirova Street, with the exception of new buildings, had no asphalt surface. Long-time residents describe it as one of the dirtiest and most neglected places in the settlement.
What the street looked like in the past
In the past, the upper part of the street was split by a deep and wide ravine. This ravine, according to recollections, served as a place for children's games. The right side of the ravine was close to the fences of houses, while the left part was a wide roadway. The ravine could be crossed only in a few places. Closer to Arychaya Street the ravine ended, and there the water from the aryk flowed across the road, which attracted children.
The modern appearance
Local residents note that the times have fundamentally changed the appearance of Orlovka. Today Kirova Street is fully paved and looks modern.
