Planned landscaping work in Bishkek's 4th microdistrict will be postponed. City Head Aybek Junushaliev ordered the cessation of tree planting until an irrigation system is fully established in the area.

Reason for the planting ban
The issue was raised on November 7, 2026, during a field inspection of the capital. The Mayor emphasized that planting new vegetation without the possibility of regular irrigation is impractical. According to him, to preserve greenery, water supply must be ensured first.
"I categorically prohibit planting trees where there is no irrigation."
Context
The decision concerns Bishkek's 4th microdistrict — a city with a population of approximately 1.2 million people. Mayor Aybek Junushaliev requires that planting be conducted exclusively when conditions for ongoing plant care are available.
