During a tour of city sites, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev reviewed work on the construction of a new public garden on A. Masaliev Street (formerly Chortekov Street), located on the section from A. Tokombaev Street to City Hospital No. 4. The head of the city issued a number of instructions concerning further landscaping of the area.
Requirements for landscaping and pedestrian accessibility
The project calls for the planting of around 1,250 tall deciduous trees. In addition, the mayor instructed that adjoining private areas be surveyed and joint work be organized with business entities on their landscaping and improvement.
Emphasis on comfort for pedestrians
Special attention was given to pedestrian infrastructure. The mayor instructed that smooth curves be provided for sidewalks so that they are convenient for cyclists and people with strollers. The use of lattice paving that preserves grass cover is also being considered.
- Consideration of building an underground pedestrian crossing based on actual pedestrian traffic
- The public garden should become one of the capital's large public spaces, matching such places as Dzerzhinsky Park and Molodaya Gvardiya Boulevard in level of landscaping and functionality
According to the mayor, all decisions must be justified and aimed at creating a comfortable and safe urban environment. Residents who attended the inspection expressed gratitude to the mayor for his attention to their appeals and for making decisions on the spot.
