Begimai Emil kyzy spoke about her years-long struggle for justice following the death of her mother, Shakiana Kurenkeeva. According to the applicant, the nurse, who had 34 years of experience at Polyclinic No. 7, died at her workplace on October 23, 2024, due to anaphylactic shock following an injection.
Legal proceedings and denial of payments
According to the woman's statement, the Ministry of Labor drew up an industrial accident report, and trade union organizations also recognized the death as work-related. However, difficulties arose during the judicial appeal process: the first-instance court decision in favor of the family was overturned by the Bishkek City Court. After the Supreme Court pointed out errors and remanded the case for retrial, the city collegium, according to Begimai, again ruled against the relatives.
An additional problem was the denial of compensation to the deceased's 80-year-old grandmother. The court justified this decision by the fact that she has other children, despite the elderly woman suffering from severe asthma and living with the deceased nurse's family.
Presidential reaction
President Sadyr Japarov instructed a representative of the judicial system to meet with the deceased's daughter, study the circumstances of the case in detail, and report on the results. The head of state noted that the judicial system still faces problems with procedural delays and corruption, although he acknowledged an increase in trust in justice authorities compared to 2020.
