A nighttime verbal altercation between two men in Bishkek ended in an attack that left one of the parties to the conflict with a severe injury. The victim sustained a penetrating chest wound that affected the lung.
Court proceedings and consequences for the attacker
The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek found the man guilty of intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm. According to the court, the incident occurred on May 20, 2025, at about 22:55 at the intersection of Togolok Moldo Street and Jibek Jolu Avenue.
According to the account established by the court, Maksim was in a state of alcohol intoxication. During the altercation, he struck the victim in the chest area with a sharp object.
Nature of the injuries sustained
According to the forensic medical examination report, the victim sustained a penetrating stab wound to the chest. This resulted in damage to the lower lobe of the left lung, accumulation of blood in the pleural cavity and posthemorrhagic anemia. In addition, a cut wound to the auricle was recorded.
Initially, the Pervomaisky District Court sentenced the attacker to five years in prison to be served in a strict regime correctional colony. However, the Bishkek City Court amended the sentence with regard to compulsory treatment for drug addiction in places of deprivation of liberty, leaving the rest of the decision unchanged.
