More than 20 buses are planned to be put into service on the routes, operating from spring 2027. According to Cholpon-Ata Mayor Rustam Kadyrkulov, the new routes will be important both for local residents and for the large flow of tourists coming to Issyk-Kul.
New transport links for the resort town
Residents have repeatedly raised the need to improve transport connections, especially in the summer, when large numbers of holidaymakers arrive at the resort. The mayor of Cholpon-Ata noted that the town is counting on support from the state and sponsors to implement the project.

According to the mayor, the new route network will not be limited to the boundaries of Cholpon-Ata. The initial focus will be on creating a regularly operating route connecting Tamchy Airport. There is also the possibility of extending it to Kara-Oy if demand is confirmed.
These new bus lines are intended to provide more convenient connections between the airport, Cholpon-Ata and other nearby settlements.
Project details
At present, the exact routes, as well as information on fares, intervals and the capacity of the new buses, have not been announced.
