The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan has drawn the attention of citizens and entrepreneurs to the differences between the state institution "Halal Industry Development Center" and the commercial entity that actually issues halal certificates.

Who is authorized to issue certificates for halal products

According to information obtained from the ministry, the issuance of certificates of conformity with halal standards is not within the powers of the state institution "Halal Industry Development Center." This state institution has operated under the ministry since 2021 and is authorized to implement state policy in the area of halal industry development.

  1. Certification of halal products and services is handled by accredited certification bodies.
  2. Currently, certificates are issued by the limited liability company "Halal Industry Development Center," which was accredited in 2026.
