Residents of building No. 91 on Aini Street in Bishkek have again appealed for help in securing a natural gas connection and a switch to household electricity tariffs. Although the problem drew the attention of the mayor's office after the first publication, no specific timeline for resolving the issue has yet been provided.
The gas connection problem and electricity tariffs
Residents have prepared a collective appeal to Jogorku Kenesh deputy Zhanybek Abirov. According to the city residents, after the problem was first reported, municipal representatives expressed willingness to help. Nurgazy Kurmanbekov, head of the municipal enterprise Bishkekteploenergo, is assisting with consultations with Bishkekgas and Bishkekglavarkhitektura.
Nevertheless, the developer, Ordo Construction Group LLC, still gives no exact timeline for connecting the building to the gas network. Residents note that they are told about the stage of document approval, but there are no specifics.
The situation with gas pipelines on neighboring plots
Particular concern is caused by the work under way to lay a gas pipeline on neighboring streets. According to the residents, work began about 70 meters from the building: heavy machinery was brought onto the street and is laying pipes.
Residents are also concerned about the high electricity tariffs, which amount to almost 5 som per kilowatt-hour.
